Jazz @ The Hive – 17/3/18

The Slipdixies are a unique group of musicians who are inspired by the early jazz and blues music of the twenties and thirties from New Orleans. They create the sounds of early New Orleans music with a mild modern twist. Their repertoire ranges from hot driving to laid back blues.  They cook up a gumbo of popular favourites and forgotten treasures.

Join us @ The Hive for a foot-tapping night of fun.

Please contact Edith @ Werribee Jazz Club on 0410 302 340 to grab your spot.

Jazzing It Up @ The Hive

There was plenty of fun, dancing and great jazz music Saturday night with the Des Camm Jazz Band providing the entertainment.  Great to see the crowd get into the spirit of dressing for the occasion.  Not sure who won the prizes for the best tie or parrasole but the competition was hotly contested!  Great effort everyone.

Many thanks to the Werribee Jazz Club who keep delivering great gigs on the third Saturday of each month @ The Hive.    Cheers to another year of great jazz!!

Seniors Event – Try Bowls/Concert – What a fab day!

The coming together of cultures.  We welcomed Wyndham Councillors Heather Marcus and Peter Maynard who spoke of the opportunities available to seniors within the Wyndham Community.  Our friends from the Wyndham Happy Life joined us to celebrate our lives and how fortunate we are.  After a cuppa and chat, visitors adjourned to the green where they were introduced to the game of lawn bowls in a fun social environment.  Whilst there was lots of fun and laughter the competitive edge of several visitors shone through!  Potential bowlers of the future.

After a light lunch we enjoyed the wonderful entertainment provided by the Wyndham Happy Life group in the form of song, dance and Tai Chi.  A fab day was had by all and the group  is returning next month which we hope will the start of a long and mutually beneficial friendship between our groups.
