Junior Jack Attack

We are working closely with Bowls Victoria and our Bowls Australia Regional Bowls Manager – Paul Holtschke in the promotion of bowls as a sport to peoples of all ages, abilities and cultures.

School Sport Victoria – Bowls Introduction

One of the four pillars of the Bowls Victoria Participation Plan is the implementation of a Juniors Program for local school children to increase Junior participation in sport   As such, we are looking to engage with local schools – both primary &  secondary interested in offering bowls as a sporting activity to their students with the following benefits:

WBC - Health and Skills Benefits of BowlsWe have accredited coaches @ The Hive available to provide an introduction to the sport and ongoing coaching depending on the level of interest.   Bowls used to be an “old persons” game.  It’s now a young person’s sport with opportunities to compete at regional, state, national and international level.  Primary school age children now regularly compete in pennant competitions.  Statistically, the earlier children become engaged with sport the more likely they are to continue with the associated benefits for the rest of their lives.

The 2018 School Sport Victoria  – Lawn Bowls Metro West Division interschool competitions were held 26th February (Secondary)  and 19th March 2018 (Primary) at Werribee Bowls Club however unfortunately the children of Wyndham were once again denied the opportunity to participate.  Let’s hope that we can get the competition up and going for 2019 and maybe find some champion bowlers of the future.  Who knows?
